Luke 12:39-48:
Jesus compares readiness for the master’s return to the coming of the Son of Man. The return and judgment will be as surprising as the coming of a thief to the master of the house. For that reason, Jesus emphasizes that constant readiness is essential and must be central to faith.
In this dark and difficult time, thoughts about your return are ever-present. May I, through prayer and sacrament, be mindful of the need for constant readiness every moment of every day.
