Matthew 21:33-43, 45-46:
Just as the landowner sends out his servants to work in the vineyard, God sends the prophets to prepare the way. They are rejected. The master sends his only son, expecting that he will be received well. He is not. God sends his only Son and though rejected and killed, Jesus, the cornerstone, opens the doors to God’s kingdom.
Through the stories of Joseph and the son of the vineyard owner, we are led to the story of God’s Son, which ends in triumph because God loves the world he created.
